When I look back at all the people that have come through the (real and virtual) doors of Visionary Voices PR in the last 12 months, I see that while they were from different industries, they had same challenge: they were not visible enough. they were not seen as industry leaders. they played small. they were hiding. they’d make one tiny step forward to next level and then immediately they’d make a giant step backwards. back into obscurity.

In fact, most entrepreneurs do not take time to clearly articulate their Unique Value Proposition.

Most small businesses do not have a social media strategy (whereas 8 out of big brands do.)

Most entrepreneurs’ LinkedIn & Twitter profiles are not optimized. In fact, they sulk.

Their brand messaging is absent.

I’ve also noticed that most small business owners spend 90 percent of the time working in their business, not on the business. Seeking visibility, recognition and industry leadership through PR is usually reserved for “when I finish my book”, “when we hit an X revenue threshold” or “when our new on-brand website is launched”… In other words, entrepreneurs often find it hard to get out of their way, be that perfectionism, insecurities, fear of success…

No wonder that 7 out of 10 small businesses and 8 out of 10 startups worldwide fail.
